Overview
n this practice-oriented Bachelor in Cyber Security study programme, you will be trained as a threat hunter with leadership potential. You will acquire the latest knowledge in the field of cyber security and deal with the architecture, programming and maintenance of security systems. In addition to incident response and digital forensics, you will learn about aspects of penetration testing and reverse engineering in order to understand the perspective of cyber criminals and protect against them.

Entry Requirements
As an applicant with a general secondary school diploma that qualifies you to start university, you’ll be able to start our Bachelor’s degree course straight away without any testing. Depending on your specialisation, if you’re an applicant with a subject-related secondary school diploma, you can either start your Bachelor’s degree course right away or with an entrance qualification.
Study Content
As a cyber security expert, you will master the basics of modern operating systems. You will be familiar with distributed applications in the cloud and methods of software forensics as well as data analysis. Our Bachelor’s programme in Cyber Security provides you with the essential skills and fundamental knowledge required for managerial positions.
Our Bachelor’s degree programme has a modular structure which means that you’ll study specific topics that are divided into modules. Once you’ve successfully completed a module, you will receive ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) points which are internationally recognized. Expertise in the field of cyber security is in high demand across all industries, as almost all businesses now operate based on technology.
As a graduate of our Bachelor in Cyber Security you will be familiar with the complexity of security measures and aware of targeted industry-specific topics. You will have the necessary knowledge to create security concepts and carry out relevant tests. This will enable you to defend against cyberattacks with the help of secure software and system architecture. After graduation, you may, for example, be part of an IT security department or system architecture team. You may also wish to pursue a career in digital forensics, penetration testing, auditing, red teaming or as a cyber incident responder.
Dual degree with London South Bank University
With the IU and LSBU (London South Bank University) dual degree track, you get a unique opportunity – you can choose if you want to graduate with both a German and a British graduation certificate, without any extra academic requirements. The study programmes at IU and at LSBU are coordinated and therefore equivalent to each other.
Start your studies at IU, and if you want to apply for your British certificate* all you have to do is send in your application and pay the registration fee. You’ll then be awarded a degree from LSBU following your graduation if all of your study requirements have been fulfilled successfully.
